Cudas Win!  434 to 150

In what can only be called a dominating victory, the Candlelight Hills Cudas won big over the Woodlands 4 Riptides on Saturday.  Hats off to the Riptides because this was there first meet(ever!), and a home meet at that.  Even with a few technical problems, the meet completed at about 12:30pm.

The swimmers and volunteers were greeted with some of the best weather we've seen in years despite a little chill in the air as the temp was in the mid 50's.  A couple of high school letter jackets were spotted as well as many sweaters, pullovers and towels for the unprepared.  The sun never really came out through the clouds making it a perfect day for all.  The Riptides facility  was also very nice with shade covers and all the trees where the Cudas camped out.  The six (6) lane 25 yard pool made the swimming a little easier for the Cudas who practice in a longer 25 meter pool.

The only thing better than the weather was the Candlelight Hills Cuda swimmers!  The Cudas dominated the whole meet.  The Cudas relay teams won 19 out of the 22 events.  Impressive!  The Cudas were strong in the 13-14 and the 15-18 groups, this group missed first place finishes in only 3 events(1 of the 3 we did not have a swimmer).   The 11-12 group also scored well and the 10 and under group  won the majority of their events.   Overall The Cudas won 1st place in 57 of the 78 events.  This alone accounts for 285 points.  In many events the Cudas also went 1-2 or 1-2-3 capturing all points for that event.

Thanks to all the volunteers on both sides for making the meet successful.
